Yes, I know. You hate Art History. Dr. Coad can choke on his cookies. Blah, etc. But, I really dig it when I see a work of art like his and just enjoy  it because it’s so weird and pretty. The fact that it’s so paradoxical is appreciated by me, at least.

I don’t have a picture of them, but Mr. Kaplan’s pants are very nice. The ones that he hates because they’re a little “distressed.” That patch of worn denim is 1″x1″, get over it. I personally think they are very flattering and he should be appreciative of the fact that his wife has nice taste.

Really light-weight; all plastic

I lucked out big time during our family “White Elephant” tradition/session on Christmas. It’s the one where one can steal a gift or pick an unopened one off the table. Basically the fucked up version of Secret Santa, which is what we USUALLY play. Well it was a lot harder to choose a gift as it had to unisex and ambiguous. No clothes or custom items. I bought a Lomography camera called the Diana+ form Urban Outfitters and I loved it. I wanted to drop out of the game and just keep it for myself but that was uncool so I played. My uber-indie uncle Johnny did the smart thing and just put in $85 as his “gift” and I stole that from my aunt. Then my mom stole back the camera as her gift after Johnny stole it from the same aunt. The camera was stolen twice so it was considered “dead”. I stole the money which was only stolen once. No one was going to steal the money from a 16 year old who needed it more than anyone else who was playing. I ended up with the money and pretty much the camera too.

And the camera is amazing

I also plan on buying a turntable. I’m so unbeliveably excited to buy it tomorrow.  Oh the records I will play and buy!

For the record, this is a GREAT photo. I don’t even know how I did it. It’s good! It’s fucking dumb that when I post this on a site dedicated to art, it’s taken down. People were posting their goddamn Myspace pictures and egotistical close ups on there! My photo portrayed old, classical art in a modern way. I don’t even want to know what those other people’s explanations for those cliches are.

It’s O.K. though because I’m positive I’ll be across that ocean to our east with a fresh new family whose faith doesn’t cause hypocrisy. Even if my English relatives were a bit fucked up, I couldn’t call them hypocrites.
